Chimney Cleaning
Certified chimney sweeps remove creosote and blockages for a safer fireplace.

About Chimney Cleaning
Every wood fire deposits creosote inside the flue. In its early stage it brushes off as soot, but with cool flue temperatures, unseasoned wood, or a restricted draft it hardens into stage two flakes and eventually stage three glaze — a tar-like coating that ignites at temperatures a normal fire can reach. A chimney fire in a glazed flue can crack liners and spread into the structure in minutes.
Our sweeps clear the firebox, smoke chamber, and full flue with correctly sized poly or steel heads, containing dust with a sealed vacuum at the fireplace opening so nothing enters your living room. We remove ash and debris, check the damper for free movement, and inspect the cap, crown, and flashing for the water intrusion that quietly destroys masonry.
You get a written inspection report with photos: creosote stage found, liner condition, obstructions removed, draft observations, and any safety issues that need attention before the next burn season. If we find heavy glaze or a damaged liner, we tell you plainly rather than sweeping over it.
Chimneys that see regular wood burning, that have smoked back into the room, or that have gone two or more seasons without service should be scheduled before heating season rather than during it.

How the appointment works
- 1Inspection & walkthrough
We arrive in the 9am–6pm window, protect your floors and furnishings, then inspect the firebox, smoke chamber, and flue with an HD camera and show you what we find before any work starts.
- 2Containment & setup
Negative pressure is established with a truck-mounted or portable HEPA vacuum so debris travels out of the building, not into your rooms.
- 3Agitation & extraction
Rotary brushes, air whips, and compressed-air tools break loose the bonded dust and buildup while the vacuum pulls everything out under continuous suction.
- 4Verification & report
We re-inspect on camera, take after photos, walk you through the results, and only then do you pay the technician at your doorstep.

Common questions
How much does chimney cleaning cost?+
$149 per flue, including the sweep, creosote removal and a photographed safety inspection.
How often does a chimney need sweeping?+
Once a year for a fireplace in regular winter use, and before the first fire of the season if the chimney has sat unused for more than a year.
Will the sweep make a mess indoors?+
No. We seal the opening, run negative pressure into a HEPA vacuum and lay protection over the hearth and floor. We leave your home cleaner than we found it.
